Hopefully these directions can help everyone. I tried to include what I would call the four main cities in the region. I realize most of you won't live in these cities but you may have to pass through them on your way to the event. If you need some special directions you can e-mail me or call me anytime.

Directions from Spartanburg, SC: take Hwy 221 North out of Spartanburg towards Chesnee. (note: Hwy 221 is accessible from I-85 and I-26). Continue on Hwy 221 north for approximately 2 hours. When you arrive in Linville, NC look out for the intersection of Hwy 105. There will be a very large "Grandfather Mountain," sign on the right-hand side of this intersection. Turn left onto Hwy 105 at the light. Travel on Hwy 105 towards Boone, NC. After you have passed the Macdonald's and Lowe's Grocery Store travel about 2 miles. When you reach the bottom of the "big" hill look for the campground on the right. There is a sign that says, "Grandfather Mountain RV Park and Resort." If you pass the trout farm you have gone to far!

Directions from Raleigh/Durham: take I-40/I-85 west toward Winston-Salem. Before I-85 branches away from I-40 look for Hwy 421 North towards Wilkesboro. Travel along Hwy 421 North past Wilkesboro and continue up the mountain to Boone. When you reach the town of Boone the road will widen to 4 lanes. At the 5th light there will be an old NAPA auto parts on the right and a gas station on the left, turn left at that light_..it is Hwy 105. Take Hwy 105 out of Boone towards the Ski Areas. Climb the 1st big hill. About 8 miles out of town you will se the main turn-off road that leads up to Hawksnest Ski Resort. STAY ON HWY 105 The campground is located about 100 yards past that turnoff. If you start to climb another big hill you have gone to far.

Directions from Asheville, NC: take I-40 east towards Statesville. When you get to Marion NC take the Hwy 221 exit. Take a left on Hwy 221 and head north towards Spruce Pine and Linville. ). Continue on Hwy 221 north for approximately 1 hour. When you arrive in Linville, NC look out for the intersection of Hwy 105. Directions from Tri-Cities /Upper East Tennessee: From Johnson City take 181 south to the Elizabethton exit. At end of ramp go right and follow 321 through Elizabethton. After Elizabethton turn right on 19-E towards Roan Mountain and NC. After Elk Park, NC, turn left on 194 to Banner Elk, NC. Turn right at the only traffic light in Banner Elk and follow that road until it ends .Turn left onto Hwy 105 at the light. Travel on Hwy 105 towards Boone, NC. After you have passed the Macdonalds and Lowe's Grocery Store travel about 2 miles. When you reach the bottom of the "big" hill look for the campground on the right. There is a sign that says, "Grandfather Mountain RV Park and Resort." If you pass the trout farm you have gone too far!
