The Wedding Campout
May 19-21nd

Karen and Rob will be wed on April 22nd, 2006 and then it's off to Key West!

When we get back we are hoping all of our bus friends, and new ones to be made, will join us to celebrate at a bus campout near Kings Mountain, SC. We wish we could invite all of our friends to the actual wedding, but it will be a small, mostly family affair and that's why we are having a wedding campout to celebrate!!!

It seems like yesterday that Dicko and Lori were married during a campout at their house and now they have offered to host our wedding campout there too.

We will be married before the campout, but we hope that everyone will come out to celebrate with us after we get back from our honeymoon. Plus it's a good excuse to go camping!! It will be a regular bus campout so you don't have to know us or celebrate the wedding if you just want to come and camp in your bus and be with old and new friends.

Dicko and Lori have hosted the Oktoberbus campout at their house and it is a good place for camping with room for hundreds of buses. There will be outdoor toilets set up, and Dicko has a shower for you to use if you want. The cost for camping the ENTIRE weekend will be $15 per bus (mostly to pay for the toilets) and this price will probably include a souvenier t-shirt if we can get them printed in time. If we can't get the t-shirts done the price for camping will be even less and if you are only coming for the day you can just make a donation or bring some food, etc.

We will be cooking the traditional breakfast burrittos Saturday morning and a community dinner Saturday night. Menu suggestions are welcome. Jeffrie's famous Coffee Haus bus will be there for some excellent coffee too.

There will also be a live band! Some of Dicko and Lori's friends have a band called Straight Jacket and they will be preforming for us Friday or Saturday night. What more could you want? Come out and camp with us in the Spring!

DIRECTIONS TO THE CAMPOUT

Please copy and paste the directions and print them out or write them down. The actual address is 1173 Carsons Place Rd Clover, SC 27910 but MapQuest does not recognize the address. If you are bad at directions or if you are real far away and need a little help you can use Mapquest to Gastonia, NC which is about 20 miles East of their house. It should point you in the right direction. If you have any questions you can email me at robhenley@baywindowbus.com

Directions to the campout Coming from the Charlotte/Greensboro area or from the North: Take 85 South past Gastonia, towards Kings Mountain. You will take the second Kings Mountain exit, Exit 8. Turn down and cross over the SC state line. You can look for the Kings Mountain Battleground Park which will be on the right and their place is just about a mile past the park or approximately 3 miles past the state line. Take a left on Carsons Place Road. They have the front nose of an old splitty bus in the yard to let you know from the highway where to turn. Follow Carsons Place Road til it dead ends. You're there!

If Interstate 77 is more convenient take 77 until you get to Interstate 85 near Charlotte, NC and follow the directions above.

Coming from the South/Columbia SC area. Take Interstate 77 North towards Rock Hill. Turn onto Highway 901 North or West to Highway 5. Take Highway 5 to York, SC. Once past York, SC pick up Highway 161/321 and then fork to the left where they split and take Highway 161. It’s about 7 miles past York on the right on Carsons Place Road. Look for the red and white splitty front nose in the yard. Follow the road to the end and you're there.

If you are coming from the Asheville area you can take Highway 74 to 85 and it's a nice drive in my opinion or you may take Interstate 26 to Interstate 85, but I believe it's a more distant drive than taking 74. Take 85 South and follow the directions above.

Presents are not required, nor do we expect them, however if you want to get us something GoWesty has a wedding registry for bus parts and we have a 74 Westy that we are restoring. We can always use camping stuff or tools :0)
